Kristi Cooper earned a B.S. in Education and a M.A. in School Counseling from Louisiana State University. Kristi is well-placed to advise students and parents that are embarking on the college selection and application process for universities both in the United States and around the world. During her time abroad, Kristi served on the European Council of International Schools’ Guidance and Counseling Committee, attended numerous workshops and conferences, and networked with countless university admissions offices in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the UK. Kristi has vast experience meeting with parents and students, making presentations, developing curriculum, and guiding families through the process of selecting the best-suited universities.
Neil Huang is currently the President and investor of Washington Preparatory Academy, Director of Admission Office of International Department of American College of Commerce and Technology, Executive Director of Beijing Overseas Exchange Association, Vice President and Director of the International Department of Chinese Association for Science and Technology in U.S., Asian Affair Adviser of the governor office of Montgomery County, Maryland in U.S.. Neil is regarded as the best teacher and coach by hundreds of students that he has taught, mentored or hosted. He is committed to helping students to have their best study abroad experiences.
Chuck McGivern is currently the Associate Director of College Counseling and Upper School English teacher at the Cincinnati Country Day School. Chuck earned a B.A./M.A dual-degree in English and Education from LaSalle University and a M.S.ED. from Temple University. He is currently a member of NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) and ACCIS (Admission Counseling of College Counselors in Independent Schools), which grants him vast opportunities to visit colleges, attend annual conferences, and network with professionals from all over the U.S. For eighteen years in education, Chuck has taught a range of English courses, advised and counseled students and families from 9th to 12 grade, and coached four different varsity sports teams. In 2013, Chuck was the recipient of Cincinnati Country Day’s Pattinson Award, recognized by faculty for excellence in teaching. As a college counselor over the last eight years, Chuck works with students and families to find the right college match, first guiding them with course scheduling and standardized testing, then helping them develop college lists, including how to visit colleges and interview, and finally shepherding them through the college application process, including how to write college essays and interpret financial aid packages.
Terry Mees graduated from Stanford University with a degree in International Relations and completed his MBA degree in Finance and Marketing at UCLA. During his 24 year career in Financial Management at a Fortune 50 company, Terry recruited and developed many young professionals. With a passion for learning and education, Terry is keen to utilize his extensive knowledge of US colleges and universities and his vast professional experience to help students define and achieve their educational and career goals.
Lewen Shen has personally experienced the journey of studying overseas and having a successful career abroad. She grew up in Shanghai, China, studied at China Textile University, then received her Bachelor's with Honors from Texas Christian University. She continued her education with a M.S. degree from Kansas State University and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She then worked in the apparel and Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry where she trained and managed young professionals for over 20 years. She has won many awards including P&G's "Vice President Award of Achievement" and "Best Recruiter Award," as well as Cincinnati Contemporary Chinese School's "Outstanding Service Award." After helping so many students enter their dream schools, Lewen is inspired to continue utilizing her skills and experiences to create the best connections between universities and students.
SUE PING SHI
Sue Ping Shi has extensive educational and living experiences in the US. With a Master's Degree in Architecture, she worked in major architecture firms and acquired significant professional skills in management, communication and organization. Before coming to the US, she was a faculty at a major university in China. Therefore, she has formed deep cross-cultural insights into different societies, particularly in educational systems. She specializes in college preparation consultation to high school students. Beginning with helping students from China to enroll in the prestigious US high schools, she provides long-term consultation for students throughout their high-school years. She grounds students on the recruitment philosophy of US universities, provides university selection, financial aid, and campus visit guidance.
Diane Wang has twenty years of experience in the higher education administration at three different large public universities (GMU, VT and China Medical University). With a deep understanding of international student life, she will be able to bring her comprehensive experience in the Admissions Process, Student Academic Advising, Student Activities, and International Student Life with regards to students' success, cross-cultural/international programs, and institutions collaboration development. Her rich experience in international dual degree transfer program management, student advising, international partnership development will help ensure students and universities are best matched. She has served hundreds of students and families with her commitment, trust, passion and the highest level of professionalism.
Howard obtained BA degree from the University of Virginia and completed MBA at CEIBS. Having moved to the United States at age 14, he has first hand experiences with school application process, studying and living abroad. Howard built a remarkable international career in Honeywell and Schindler. Throughout the past 10 plus years, he managed and coached colleagues with various backgrounds. Some, as a result of Howard's influence, decided to pursue higher education.
